Hi! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have approximately 17 years of experience in social work, providing counseling to adolescents and adults. At the end of 2021, I decided to open my own private practice to help fill the need of long waitlists for counseling services and that was the beginning of Koen Counseling and Wellness Center.

My areas of practice are with clients struggling with trauma, substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. I opened this private practice because there is a need for more counseling providers to help those looking for new ways to cope. I am trained in EMDR and Brainspotting techniques as well.

In August 2021, I started attending Barry University to obtain my doctorate in Social Work. This has been my long-term goal, and I will complete my doctorate in the summer of 2024. During my doctorate classes, I have learned so much about how the brain functions and the body responds to stress. My passion for social work increases when I help people during trying times in their lives.
