Hello and welcome! I’m glad you’ve made the courageous decision to seek counseling. Taking that first step can feel overwhelming, but it’s a powerful move toward healing and growth. Helping others has always been my passion, and I am dedicated to supporting individuals in setting meaningful goals and developing the coping skills necessary to navigate life's challenges.
I bring several years of experience working with both individuals and small groups. For the past two years, I have served as a school social worker, assisting adolescents (grades K-8) as they faced issues such as divorce, anxiety, depression, bullying, stress, grief, self-esteem challenges, and gender identity exploration.
Before my time in schools, I worked as a crisis clinician, providing critical support to individuals experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) and am actively working towards my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification. Additionally, I have undergone advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to enhance my practice.
I believe in treating every client with compassion and respect, fostering a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your experiences. I tailor each session to meet your unique needs and am here to guide you on your journey to well-being. You don’t have to navigate this alone—prioritizing your mental health is the first step, and I will be with you every step of the way.
I am available for in-person sessions at our Jerseyville office or via telehealth.
Steve White, MSW, LSW

Title: Therapist
Location: Jerseyville, IL
I'm Steve, a school social worker with a passion for working with children and pre-adolescent youth. My goal is to offer support and build strong relationships with my clients through various activities. I have experience working with diverse emotions, genders, sexual identities, traumas, and family, peer, or school issues.
My approach is to meet my clients where they are, providing a safe space for them to process their feelings and express themselves comfortably. I believe in building trust through mediums that resonate with children, such as playing sports, engaging in arts and crafts, or enjoying board games. I am well-versed in trauma, the foster care system, and the unique stressors faced by today's youth, including social media, high expectations, bullying, and everyday challenges.
During sessions, I offer support and help youth process complex emotions, thoughts, and feelings. I empower them to develop de-escalation, coping, strategy-building, and goal-setting skills. I firmly believe that teaching children appropriate coping mechanisms at an early stage allows them to build higher self-esteem and maintain a positive outlook in their everyday lives. Once a trusting relationship is established, I involve important individuals in my clients' lives in the healing process. This may include sessions with the youth to discuss progress and goals. Engaging others clinically enhances the family dynamic and promotes open communication within the youth's everyday life.
As a caregiver, seeking support for your child is a crucial step in fostering open communication. I value your feedback and input and incorporate them into my assessments and sessions with your child. Together, we can explore ways to strengthen your relationship with your child and support their overall well-being.

Title: Therapist
Location: Jerseyville
Hello everyone, my name is Laria Davis. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois. I am currently a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), working toward my (LCSW). Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, teens, and adults through some of life’s most challenging and vulnerable seasons.
I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to land, a space where you do not have to be the strong one, have all the answers, or hold everything together. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I strive to create an environment where clients of all ages feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, school-related stressors, and everyday stress. I also support clients in developing practical coping skills that foster resilience, confidence, and long-term growth. Whether sitting on the floor with a child learning to manage big feelings, supporting a teen finding their voice, or walking alongside an adult carrying quiet burdens, my goal remains the same: to create a space that feels steady, nurturing, and safe.
Healing happens in connection. When things feel heavy or uncertain, you do not have to carry them alone. I will sit with you in the dark moments, offering steadiness and support while also holding hope and light until you are able to find it again. My goal in therapy is for my clients to leave each session feeling understood, accepted, and less alone in what they are carrying.
